Siri Lawson

Siri is the author of Warsailors.com, a website dedicated to the Norwegian Merchant Marine in World War II and her father, Odd Conrad Holm. For her efforts in creating this rich historical resource consisting of thousands of pages on ships and convoys, she was awarded the Knight of the Royal Order of Merit by the Norwegian King, Harald VI. She also spends a lot of time with her grandson Liam.

Below are our two children, Mitch and Carleen:

Konrad Mitchell Lawson

Mitch graduated from Western Washington University with 4 majors in History, Philosophy, Japanese, and East Asian Studies in December 1998. For his Japanese studies he spent a year in Yokohama and a summer studying Chinese at Princeton in Beijing. After graduating he worked for eight months in Norway, then spent a year in Beijing, China completing his Chinese language studies at Tsinghua University. He returned to the U.S. and attended Columbia University, obtaining a Masters of International Affairs in May 2002. He received a Japanese government scholarship to study at the Waseda University Graduate School of Political Science, doing research on the history of Sino-Japanese relations. He then started a PhD in the history department of Harvard University and completed his doctorate in December, 2012. He is now a Lecturer in Modern History at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

Carleen Sisilie Huxley 

Carleen also studied one year at Western Washington University and then attended the Tulsa Community College Metro Campus in downtown Tulsa until the summer of 1999. She then obtained a degree in Architectural History at the Savannah School of Art and Design in Georgia. She attended an outlet of the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa, where she completed a masters in Library and Information Studies in 2007. After working for a time at the public library in Bartlesville, OK, she took up a position managing reference services and coordinating the information literacy program at Jefferson Community College in Watertown, New York.  In addition to teaching basic information literacy and library instruction, she teaches a few other assorted classes focusing on social technologies. She has a fast growing son, Liam, aka “Loki,” (pictured above) who is an avid builder in the world of Minecraft.
