Left to right is John William, Mary Jane, Martha Jane (Lawson) and John Vinyard McDonald.
Martha Jane (Lawson) McDonald, the third oldest daughter of Albert Gallatin Lawson, was born on February 4, 1864, in the Pleasant Grove area of Walker County, Alabama, and passed away on July 7, 1946, in Walker County. She married John William McDonald in Walker County. Around 1889, they moved to Indian Territory, where her father and several of her sisters had already relocated. After the birth of their last child, Myrtle Mae, in 1904, they returned to Alabama.
The picture, taken around 1891-1892, was both a paper copy and a tin type. Lola Mae (Townley) Weaver, the granddaughter of William and Martha, possesses both copies and kindly allowed me to make copies.
A picture of the whole family. From left to right, John William, John Vinyard, Myrtle Mae, Lydia Media “Littie” and Martha Jane (Lawson) McDonald.
This is a picture of John W. and Martha J. McDonald, not very clear but I love it because it shows Martha Jane smoking her pipe.
A picture of John Vinyard and his wife Annie (McDonald) McDonald.
